The Senate is considering devoting five hours every morning to the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte to keep the trial moving without derailing regular legislative work, Sen. Erwin Tulfo said Tuesday.

Speaking on DZRH’s "Dos Por Dos," Tulfo said senators reached general consensus during a caucus last week to conduct impeachment court proceedings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Under the proposed schedule, regular Senate sessions would run from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the same days, leaving a one-hour window to reconfigure the session hall. Committee hearings would be shifted to Thursdays and Fridays.

"Mukhang amenable naman. Sang-ayon naman lahat," Tulfo said.

The Senate Impeachment Court held its seventh day of trial on Monday, July 20 and was scheduled to resume proceedings Tuesday, July 21.

Prosecutors from the House plan to call National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag as their final witness for Article IV, which addresses alleged threats involving the vice president.
