The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s (BRC) hearings have been suspended until the contents of the partial committee report are presented, said Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, who is also Chairman of the committee.

In a Thursday report by RH 28 Raymund Dadpaas, Lacson said releasing a committee report was simply part of the legislation process, with the exception of the BRC, which can also recommend filing criminal charges.

In Lacson’s partial report, he recommended the filing of charges and further pursuing probes against a number of senators in connection with anomalous flood control projects.

The senator said he did not expect a member of the minority to sign the committee report, and that he hopes five more members of the majority will follow suit, so that the report can finally be presented before the plenary.

Aside from Lacson himself, Senators Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, and Risa Hontiveros have already signed the report.

The Congress session will resume on May 4.
