Students of Bagong Silangan National High School in Quezon City were disrupted on Thursday, July 2, after reports of an alleged security threat circulated on social media, prompting panic among students and the arrival of concerned parents at the campus.
According to a report by Val Gonzales on DZRH's Operation Tulong, rumors online claimed that a shooting and stabbing incident had occurred inside the school.
However, according to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 13, which responded to the school, the reported security threat was only a "false alarm."
Despite the official clarification, some Grade 7 students claimed they witnessed an incident during recess, alleging that a Grade 10 student pointed a bladed weapon at a fellow Grade 7 female student outside a classroom.

A school security guard also dismissed the reports of gunfire, saying no shooting occurred within the premises. He claimed that noises from ongoing activity in another building may have been misinterpreted, triggering panic among students.
Barangay Bagong Silangan Chairman Wilfredo “Willy” L. Cara also denied reports of violence inside the school, saying there was no verified disturbance, emphasizing that the school remained orderly.
Wala pong kaguluhan,” Cara said.
He noted that confusion may have been fueled by text messages and social media posts containing threats or misinformation.
"Sa mga sinasabi sa message na 'yan na nagkaroon ng putukan or something, wala po tahimik ang Bagong Silangan," he added.
He also acknowledged that many parents rushed to the school to fetch their children despite the absence of any confirmed danger.
Local officials said CCTV footage is being reviewed as part of the ongoing verification.
A barangay staff member, Ivy Espineli, said they have spoken with the alleged student victim, who reportedly could not fully recall the incident or identify the person involved.
The student has been sent home to rest, while coordination continues with her family for a follow-up statement once she is ready.
School officials, barangay representatives, and police authorities are continuing discussions to address the incident and prevent further panic.
This is a developing story.
