Security restrictions around the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex and nearby areas will be tightened from November 9 to 18 as the country prepares to host the 49th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.
In a public advisory, ASEAN Philippines 2026 announced the implementation of security exclusion zones, with a two-phase security arrangement covering selected areas near the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and World Trade Center.
The first phase, covering October 24 to November 8, involves controlled access, with security checkpoints requiring screening and verification.
The second phase, from November 9 to 18, will enforce full exclusion, limiting entry to authorized personnel and vehicles with valid access credentials.
Authorities will also implement traffic rerouting, including alternative routes along Seaside Boulevard, Macapagal Boulevard, EDSA, Roxas Boulevard and Diokno Boulevard for northbound and southbound motorists.
Despite the restrictions, organizers assured the public that most areas of Metro Manila will continue to operate as usual and urged motorists to plan their trips ahead.
