Filipino boy group SB19 made history as the first all-Filipino act to perform at Lollapalooza, delivering an electrifying set that showcased Original Pilipino Music (OPM) on one of the world’s biggest festival stages.
Opening their performance with the declaration, “From the Philippines to the world,” the five-member group kicked off their set with “DAM,” a Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart-topper, followed by their viral hit “Gento,” drawing cheers from a diverse international crowd.
“I didn’t expect it to be this hot,” member Josh Cullen told the audience, before adding, “But it’s hotter because of you,” energizing fans gathered at Chicago’s Grant Park.
Fellow member Stell echoed the sentiment, saying, “I love the energy. Let’s go Pinas!” as the group waved the Philippine flag and engaged festivalgoers.
SB19 also performed their newly released track “Lawless,” which dropped at midnight Philippine time, marking its live debut on the global stage.
“This will not be the last for OPM,” the group said during a post-performance interview, emphasizing their mission to bring Filipino music to a wider audience.
The group’s Lollapalooza setlist included fan favorites and recent releases including: DAM, Gento, Lawless, Emoji, Mapa, Wakas, Mga Kababayan, VISA, Dungka, and Crimzone
SB19’s milestone performance signals a growing global recognition of Filipino artists, as the group continues to expand its international reach and champion OPM worldwide.
