Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday, January 29, said that the remarks of her brother Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte against President Bongbong Marcos’ resignation came from a place of “brotherly love.”
“I have not spoken to my brother about his remarks on the President’s resignation. I can only surmise that he is coming from a place of brotherly love, coupled by the common sentiment that I do not deserve the despicable treatment that I am receiving from some sectors within the circle of the President,” the Vice President said in a statement.
She added that believing in democracy would help strengthen her resolve against any attacks of her character.
The vice president also said that she would stay true to her work unless President Marcos said otherwise.
I will stay true to my work at the Department of Education, unless the President says otherwise,” she said.
Baste Duterte earlier called for President Marcos’ resignation during his speech at the Maisug Leaders Forum in Davao City.
