House Majority Floor Leader and Ilocos 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos dismissed Co’s claims as wholly false, “desperate,” and a “political claw” to destabilize the government.

Marcos’ statement came after his appearance before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Thursday to address resigned Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co’s accusations against him.

The lawmaker insisted he could not have been responsible for the ₱50.9 billion budget insertions, noting that the inserted projects are located in Davao.

“The allegations are untrue. I did not do any such thing. Kung nakikita niyo po ‘yung listahan, may mga project diyan sa Davao City nakalagay, nakalista sa Davao City. E, alam naman natin sinong nakatira doon, ba’t ba ako maglalagay ng projects doon? Sana naman pag-aralan nila ng mabuti,” Marcos said.

When asked whether the ICI should investigate his father, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the congressman declined to speak on behalf of the commission.

In a video, Co previously alleged that the younger Marcos has been ordering yearly budget insertions, which have amounted to ₱50.938 billion from 2023 to 2025.
