The Sandiganbayan has raffled the graft and malversation cases filed against former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and six officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan in connection with alleged anomalous flood control projects.
The graft case was assigned to the Sandiganbayan 4th Division, while the malversation cases will be handled by the 3rd Division. The raffle was conducted on Monday, days after the Office of the Ombudsman filed the cases before the anti-graft court.
The raffle was led by Raffle Committee Chair Justice Juliet Manalo San Gaspar, along with Justices Lord Villanueva and Hans Chester Nocom. The cases stem from an alleged P92.8-million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
Also charged with Revilla are DPWH Bulacan First Engineering District officials Bryce Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza, RJ Domasig, Emelita Juat, Juanito Mendoza, and Christina Pineda. Following the raffle, case records are set to be forwarded to the assigned divisions.
The Ombudsman has earlier sought the immediate issuance of warrants of arrest and hold-departure orders, which are now under review by the Sandiganbayan. Prosecutors have also recommended no bail for the malversation charges.
