The Dean of San Sebastian College of Law has spoken out regarding witness Ramil Madriaga’s testimony regarding Vice President Sara Duterte’s performance while in law school.
Atty. Ted Pastrana, speaking to DZRH on the program Balansyado, refuted the claim that their law school had accepted and passed Duterte because she was the daughter of a politician.
Pastrana added that they have many students who are sons and daughters of prominent politicians. When they come to the college of law, they are only ordinary law students—”Just like everybody else,” he said.
Moreover, he described the practice of accepting students because of their connections and surnames as “impossible,” adding that any law school would be insulted by such statements.
During the House Justice Committee’s second impeachment hearing on April 14, Madriaga, who claimed to be a former bagman for Duterte, said she was “not particularly good” as a law school student in San Sebastian College.
The vice president hit back, calling Madriaga a “bar flunker and kidnapping suspect.”
