Bulacan will mark the 127th anniversary of the First Philippine Republic on Friday, January 23, at the historic Barasoain Church, with San Juan City Mayor and League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) National President Francisco Javier M. Zamora as the guest of honor.
Carrying the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” Zamora will lead the wreath-laying ceremony at the monument of General Emilio Aguinaldo, joined by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro, and Malolos City Mayor Atty. Christian D. Natividad and Vice Mayor Gilbert T. Gatchalian.
Governor Fernando invited Bulakenyos to attend the commemoration, underscoring Bulacan’s vital role in the establishment of the country’s first republic in Malolos under Aguinaldo’s leadership.
The program will also include the ceremonial unveiling of the National Historical Marker of the Bulacan Provincial Capitol, led by Fernando and National Historical Commission of the Philippines Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo.
