San Beda University will remain in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as it prepares to host Season 102 next year, easing months of speculation linking the school to a possible move to the UAAP.

The NCAA Management Committee made the announcement during the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum on Tuesday, confirming that hosting duties will officially shift from Mapua University to San Beda on June 15.

The upcoming season is set to take place after the league’s current five-year broadcast agreement with GMA Network expires on May 31, 2026.

San Beda representative to the NCAA ManCom Jonas Cabochan dismissed the transfer talk, saying it has long been fueled by recurring championship success.

The rumors gained traction following San Beda’s men’s basketball title in Season 101 and were further intensified by player movement and comments suggesting possible league changes. However, no official move has been made by the school.

Head coach Yuri Escueta previously acknowledged the speculation but said plans remain uncertain.

UAAP officials have also maintained that discussions about potential expansion or school entry remain open-ended, with no definitive decisions reached.
