Sally Santos, owner and manager of SYMS Construction Trading, has returned more than ₱15 million to the Department of Justice (DOJ) as part of her restitution in connection with alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
DOJ Spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez confirmed that Santos remitted approximately ₱15 million to the DOJ in compliance with the terms of her memorandum of agreement with the department.
Martinez said the restitution forms part of the ongoing proceedings related to the investigation into the questioned flood control projects involving SYMS Construction Trading.
He added that the DOJ will release more details on the matter at a later time.
The SYMS Construction Trading owner previously confessed to dropping off approximately ₱245 million in cash to a DPWH office in just one day.
She further revealed to investigators that the cumulative amount she may have delivered to the same office from 2022 up to now could total around ₱1 billion.
