The Philippine National Police (PNP) said former House Speaker Martin Romualdez will be assigned an ordinary hospital room if he is transferred to the PNP General Hospital at Camp Crame.
According to a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co said preparations are underway for Romualdez’s possible transfer from the private Cardinal Santos Medical Center, where he remains under medical care.
“We’ve already done the initial preparations,” Co said, adding that a room has been prepared for Romualdez.
The PNP will coordinate with doctors at Cardinal Santos Medical Center regarding the former House speaker’s medical condition and possible transfer.
“Our doctors will be coordinating with the doctors of Cardinal Santos,” Co said.
Co also emphasized that the PNP General Hospital does not have special rooms reserved for high-ranking officials.
“Dito sa ating PNP General Hospital, wala rito yung mga executive, mga special rooms. Rooms are rooms. Ordinary rooms,” Co said.
Romualdez was arrested by the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in connection with a plunder case linked to the alleged flood control project mess. Police served the arrest warrant while he was at Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
