The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) said renovation work on the historic Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium is on track for completion by October 31, ahead of scheduled events in November.

In a statement, the PSC said it is coordinating closely with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and contractor FirmBuilders to modernize the facility while preserving its heritage features.

The agencies are implementing round-the-clock coordination and streamlined workflows to upgrade key components of the stadium, including the installation of new turf and modern scoreboards.

The project also includes safety enhancements and structural retrofitting, alongside efforts to maintain the venue’s historic character through specialized interior design and the use of reclaimed materials.

The PSC said the redevelopment is part of a broader master plan to transform the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex into a world-class sporting hub.

Additional developments within the complex include plans for a public plaza, an elevated bridgeway and a monument dedicated to national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

Officials said the upgrades aim to prepare the iconic venue for future generations of athletes and spectators while retaining its cultural and historical significance.
