A riot involving at least 67 minors erupted in Barangay Greater Lagro, Fairview, Quezon City, on Saturday afternoon, leaving a 16-year-old boy seriously injured after being stabbed three times.
Police said video footage showed groups of youths running and clashing before the victim was cornered and attacked. He was later found lying on a grassy area with stab wounds to his side, back, and hand. The victim survived the assault and is now recovering in the hospital.
Investigators revealed that the rival groups had a prior dispute and allegedly agreed to meet through a chat group, which led to the violent confrontation. Authorities have summoned all 67 youths involved—aged 11 to 16—and their parents from Quezon City and Caloocan City.
Two 16-year-old suspects, identified by witnesses and positively identified by the victim, remain at large. Police said the suspects, reportedly residents of Barangay Culiat, will face charges of frustrated homicide.
