House prosecutor and Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon and prosecution spokesperson Atty. Benjamin "Jay" Tolosa Jr. received a show-cause order (SCO) issued by the Senate impeachment court over a supposed violation of the sub judice rule.

The sub judice rule restricts comments and disclosures concerning a pending case that could prejudice the proceedings, influence the court, or obstruct the administration of justice.

Ridon said he will submit his response on Monday to present his account on the issue, RH Milky Rigonan reported Thursday, September 17.

While Ridon did not disclose specifics on the alleged violations, he said he respects the court’s authority and will explain his side.

The lawmaker said he and the rest of the prosecution panel will continue to lead the presentation of Article II or the unexplained wealth, and fulfill their commitment to the public by explaining the trial events.

Ridon said he believes explaining what transpires on impeachment days, while minding the merits of the case, is simply part of their duty as prosecutors.
