

The ridge of a High Pressure Area (HPA) is extending over Northern Luzon on Thursday, April 16, according to the weather bureau PAGASA.
In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Typhoon “Sinlaku” continues to be monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). As of 3 a.m., the typhoon was located 2,385 kilometers east of Central Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 205 km/h. It is moving northward at 10 km/h.
PAGASA said the typhoon still has a chance of entering PAR. Once it enters, it will be given the local name “Caloy.”
