A 21-year-old motorcycle rider was arrested after allegedly fleeing the scene of a road crash that left a 14-year-old Grade 9 student injured in Sampaloc, Manila.

According to Tina Nolasco's report, the suspect is a resident of San Juan City.

The Hit-and-Run Division of the Manila Police District (MPD) Police Station 14 said the victim, identified as Hamar Catubay Misuari, a Grade 9 student at V. Mapa High School, was crossing the westbound lane of Legarda Street corner Jhocson Street when he was struck by a motorcycle.

Police said that instead of stopping to assist the injured student, the suspect allegedly sped away from the scene after the collision.

The suspect is now under the custody of MPD Police Station 14 as authorities conduct further investigation and prepare the appropriate charges.
