Navotas lone district Rep. Toby Tiangco called out former House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez’ protectors, labeling them as “attack crocodiles.”

In an interview at DZRH’s Balansyado on Wednesday, January 28, Tiangco responded to Manila 6th District Rep. Bienvenido “Benny” Abante’s remarks on him being the next “meow-meow” of Congress. The lawmaker clarified that there was no disagreement between them, and that the latter is just one of Romualdez’ “attack crocodiles.”

On Tuesday, Abante issued a statement, claiming that Tiangco sounded like a broken record on bringing up the allegations concerning the budget mess.

“Do you want to be the next meow-meow?” Abante asked, urging Tiangco to stop mudslinging and promoting divisiveness if there is no evidence.

Tiangco mentioned that some lawmakers do not want him to keep bringing up the issue of the anomalous government projects.

When asked about Romualdez, Tiangco stressed that the former can always speak up about the allegations against him, adding that no one is preventing him from doing so.

“Ano mas mahalaga, ‘yung parliamentary courtesy o ‘yung katotohana malaman ng taumbayan. Bakit ka magtatago sa parliamentary courtesy?” Tiangco emphasized, adding that Romualdez has not given any media interviews.
