Rovelyn Baterbonia, mother of the late student-athlete Rene Baterbonia, clarified that the ₱30 entrance fee reportedly seen at Baterbonia’s Collection is intended for their mini museum and not for the family’s physical store.

In a social media post, Rovelyn said the fee is collected from visitors who enter the mini museum dedicated to her late son, Rene Baterbonia 2.0.

She explained that the fee helps cover the museum’s maintenance expenses.

According to Rovelyn, residents of Talacogon covering all 16 barangays are allowed to enter the museum for free. However, non-residents accompanying Talacogon residents are still required to pay the ₱30 entrance fee.

She emphasized that customers visiting Baterbonia’s Collection store do not have to pay an entrance fee.

“Lilinawin ko lang po ha. Ang may entrance po na 30 pesos ay ang museum namin, hindi po yung store namin,” Rovelyn said.

Her clarification drew various reactions from netizens, with some questioning the decision while others expressed support for the museum honoring the late athlete.

One commenter wrote, “Nasobrahan na yata ang nanay ni Rene…”

Another commenter defended the initiative, saying the family should be allowed to live their lives as long as it does not affect others.

Rovelyn ended her post by thanking both the followers and critics of the Baterbonia family.
