Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Ralph Recto said on Monday that he has not been offered the Executive Secretary post amid rumors that incumbent ES Lucas Bersamin was sacked by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“There is no offer, there’s nothing to accept. I remain as (Secretary of) DOF,” Recto told reporters at the sidelines of today’s Senate plenary deliberation.
He said he has only heard of talks of a cabinet revamp from the media, adding that he has not been part of any meeting pertaining to the matter.
In a report by RH 28 Raymund Dadpaas, rumors that Recto will be replacing Bersamin as Executive Secretary have been widely spread. In Recto’s place, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick Go will be leading the DOF.
Talks of Bersamin’s resignation began when he was named among the officials receiving kickbacks from the anomalous flood control projects, according to a report.
