A newly turned-over ambulance assigned to the town of Catarman was involved in a road accident in Northern Samar on Monday, August 19.
According to the report, the ambulance flipped after encountering a carabao that suddenly crossed the road, resulting in an accident. Fortunately, the driver and his passenger were safe.
The ambulance is one of the 22 units of patient transport vehicles that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sent to Ormoc City on August 18, 2025.
It was turned over by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP), and will be stationed at different towns of Northern Samar. Each transport vehicle contains stretchers, an oxygen tank, a blood pressure monitor, a first aid kit, and other essential medical tools.
