A new political alliance, the Reform Alliance for Good Governance and Accountability (RAGE) Coalition, was formally launched on Sunday, April 12 at Club Filipino.

The coalition was led during its launch by Davao City Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte and initiated by Mike Defensor and former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez. Duterte, who currently serves as president of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP), supported the formation of the alliance.

RAGE is composed of several political groups, including the PDP, Partido Reporma, and Reform PH. Organizers described the coalition as a multi-sectoral alliance that includes political parties, civic organizations, and grassroots movements.

According to its organizers, the coalition aims to promote accountability in government and address key national issues.

Among those present at the launch were Senators Christopher Go and Robin Padilla, along with Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Leviste and SAGIP Party-list Rep. Paolo Marcoleta.

Former Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez and former Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles also attended the event.

In his remarks, Duterte said the coalition seeks to mobilize public support and participation, “This will be 2016 all over again, let’s reclaim the country and give it back to the people.”
