The final decision on whether Pastor Apollo Quiboloy will be removed from Philippine National Police (PNP) custody hinges on the pending decisions and directives from the two courts that issued arrest warrants for the religious leader.
"Wala pa po tayong narereceive na any reply or any order na ipupush through po or idedefer," PNP Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo said during an interview with the media on Wednesday.
"Yes po [hindi pa final na sa PNP ang custody]. We have to wait for the final order to be issued by the two courts," she added.
At the press briefing at Camp Crame, Fajardo clarified that the Pasig RTC has not yet issued a commitment order to keep the Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder in PNP Custodial Center.
According to Fajardo, they submitted an urgent motion to retain custody to the Quezon City RTC, which had previously issued an order to transfer Quiboloy to the new Quezon City Jail, but no response has been received yet.
The PNP is stern with its stance that the QC Court must ensure that Quiboloy is physically present for his arraignment in Pasig City on Friday.
The PNP initially raised concerns about the possibility of Quiboloy being transferred out of Camp Crame, while Quiboloy has sought a transfer to AFP detention or, alternatively, house arrest.
The physical arraignment of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader is scheduled at the Pasig court on Friday morning, while the arraignment at the QC court will be conducted via teleconference on Friday afternoon.
