The highly anticipated finale to the Bayaniverse trilogy, “QUEZON,” gained wide attention following the Department of Education’s (DepEd) recent advisory recognizing the film’s educational value in promoting historical awareness and civic engagement among Filipino learners.

In DepEd Advisory No. 194, s. 2025, the agency described "QUEZON" as “a film designed to strengthen historical awareness, civic education, and appreciation of the arts among Filipino learners by providing creative, curriculum-aligned tools that make history both relevant and accessible.”

DepEd clarified that the advisory, issued in compliance with DepEd Order (DO) No. 8, s. 2013, is “not for endorsement per DO 28, s. 2001, but only for the information of DepEd officials, personnel, and the public.”

Directed by Jerrold Tarog and produced by TBA Studios, "QUEZON" stars Jericho Rosales as President Manuel L. Quezon in a powerful portrayal of leadership, nation-building, and the struggle for independence. The film explores how Quezon’s vision shaped the Philippines’ identity during a pivotal era in its history.

The movie opened on October 15, in cinemas across the Philippines and is set for international screenings in Australia and New Zealand starting October 30, the United States and Canada on October 31, and the Middle East on November 20.

Early audience reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with many rating the film a perfect 10. Viewers praised QUEZON as “an important movie” that not only celebrates Filipino heroism but also mirrors contemporary political and social realities.

With its rich storytelling and historical resonance, QUEZON continues to spark conversations on patriotism, integrity, and leadership—reminding audiences that history remains deeply relevant to the challenges the Philippines faces today.
