The Quezon City Hall compound was declared clear of explosives after authorities found no suspicious objects or situations during a security inspection following an alleged bomb threat Thursday night, September 17.

In a statement on Thursday, the local government said the threat was sent by an individual through the official Facebook page of the Quezon City Government.

The incident was immediately reported to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the city government’s Safety and Security Cluster.

As part of security protocols, authorities conducted sweeping, paneling, and inspection operations inside the Quezon City Hall compound and all buildings within the area.

"Sa isinagawang pagsusuri, wala namang nakitang kahina-hinalang bagay o sitwasyon sa lugar," the local government said.

The QCPD is investigating the incident in coordination with the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group to determine the source of the threat.

The Quezon City government said those behind the threat will be held accountable under the law.

It also reminded the public not to make bomb threats as a joke or use them to cause fear.
