The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported the recovery of additional evidence in connection with the deaths of a police officer and her son after executing a search warrant at the residence of suspects Pia and Christian Panganiban in Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City, as reported by RH Val Gonzales.
The operation, conducted at 7:30 PM on February 12, involved joint personnel from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, Novaliches Police Station 4, and the Quezon City District Forensic Unit.
Authorities recovered 14 swabbed biological fluid samples with suspected blood traces, eight cut cloth materials with suspected blood, one tissue paper, nine hair strands believed to belong to the victims, a cigarette butt, and five fragments of a styrofoam cooler reportedly used to conceal the firearm during the crime.
All items have been turned over to the QCDFU for examination. Two CCTV units were also seized and handed to the CIDU for analysis.
QCPD Director PBGen Randy Glenn Silvio said, “The recovery of these additional pieces of evidence strengthens our case and will help ensure that the suspects are held fully accountable under the law. We will continue gathering all necessary evidence to ensure justice for the victims.”
Authorities said the operation marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation, as police continue to collect all relevant evidence to support the case.
