The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Sunday addressed the viral stabbing incident involving minors that occurred on Saturday, January 17 in Fairview.
In a press statement, the QCPD said it “strongly condemns” the incident, wherein a 16-year-old boy was attacked by a group of children in conflict with the law (CICL) at around 5:43 p.m. at a park in Barangay Greater Lagro, Fairview, Quezon City.
A witness was able to identify the primary suspect, against whom a case is being filed. In addition, further investigation to name other suspects is underway.
The QCPD believe the incident brings into focus the importance of maintaining an environment safe and protective of children.
“The QCPD continues to work closely with the community and partner agencies to strengthen child protection and promote peace and safety in our neighborhoods,” the agency wrote.
