

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confirmed the arrest of a police mobile driver involved in a fatal road crash incident in Payatas, Quezon City, on Friday, April 24, with multiple criminal charges now filed before the city prosecutor’s office.
QCPD Director PBGen. Randy Glenn Silvio reported that the suspect was apprehended at around 12:00 noon on April 25, while confined at the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Authorities said the driver underwent an Alcohol Breath Analyzer (ABA) test, which returned a negative result, but was nonetheless subjected to inquest proceedings.
He now faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicides, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
The QCPD also confirmed that one person under police custody (PUPC) remains hospitalized at Quezon City General Hospital following surgery. The patient is now in stable condition but remains under close medical monitoring.
Police also extended financial assistance to cover the patient’s medication and laboratory expenses.
In a statement, PBGen. Silvio emphasized that due process will be strictly observed while ensuring accountability in the case. He also assured continued support for the injured parties.
“We assure the public that due process will be strictly observed and that accountability will be upheld. At the same time, we continue to closely monitor the condition of those injured and extend necessary assistance to all affected individuals,” Silvio said.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances of the crash as the investigation continues.
