Two people were killed after a riding-in-tandem shooting along Timog Avenue in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon, April 28.

According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the 51-year-old driver was first declared dead while undergoing treatment at the East Avenue Medical Center. The 75-year-old passenger later succumbed to injuries.

Initial investigation showed that the victims were on board a white car when two men riding a motorcycle blocked their path and repeatedly fired at them. Responding police found the driver near the center island, while the passenger remained inside the vehicle.

Authorities recorded at least 12 bullet holes in the windshield and body of the car, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Zachary Capellan of QCPD Station 10.

Police have yet to determine the relationship between the two.

The QCPD has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a deeper probe into the incident, including backtracking through installed CCTV cameras. A manhunt operation against the suspects is also underway, with authorities coordinating with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

Meanwhile, the QCPD is urging the public to report any information that may help in the investigation.
