Quezon City has recorded over 3,800 dengue cases from the beginning of 2026 to August 6, lower than the cases recorded during the same period last year.
Compared to last year, with cases amounting to 7,136 patients, dengue cases across the entire city reached only 3,842.
Based on Quezon City’s data, children ages 10 and below are most susceptible to the disease, with 1,747 cases, making up 45 percent of the total count.
The city’s second district accounted for the most cases at 1,345 cases. QC logged 18 dengue-related deaths throughout the city this year.
The local government’s epidemiology and surveillance division advised residents to routinely practice “search and destroy” and clean-up drives by covering water tanks, drums, and other containers holding water.
Residents are also encouraged to protect themselves from mosquito bites by wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants, installing mosquito nets in sleeping areas, and applying repellant spray.
If residents experience symptoms of dengue such as fever, headaches, and stomachaches, they should immediately seek medical consultation at the nearest health center, the Quezon City government said.
