The Quezon City health department launched a probe into new dengue cases in two of the city’s districts, the local government’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Division said on Saturday.

The division officers from Districts 1 and 6 carried out a 2-day investigation from August 18 to 20 due to a rise in recorded dengue cases.

The officers interviewed residents of Barangay Bahay Toro, Macaya, and Pleasant Ville Sipa Street in Barangay Tandang Sora to learn about their symptoms and remind them of ways to prevent dengue.

They were warned of the risks of dengue, especially when medical consultation is delayed.

QC residents were encouraged to participate in the 4S Against Dengue: to ensure there is no stagnant water around their homes, to use mosquito repellants, and to promptly see a professional once they begin experiencing symptoms of dengue.
