The Quezon City government has launched an investigation into the reported storage of large volumes of diesel fuel inside a residential property in Barangay Sacred Heart amid growing safety concerns from residents.
In a statement, the city government confirmed coordination with the Department of Energy (DOE), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Quezon City Police District to determine possible violations of safety and regulatory laws.
The BFP has also ordered the immediate removal of the stored fuel to prevent fire hazards.
The probe comes as residents along Scout Castor Street raise alarm over the alleged storage of around 10,000 liters of diesel inside a home, citing risks of fire or explosion and the lack of proper permits.
According to reports, an oil tanker was seen transferring fuel into the property, further heightening concerns among the community. More than 20 residents have signed a petition urging authorities to take immediate action and ensure their safety.
“The safety of our residents is our top priority. We will not tolerate any activity that endangers the public,” the local government said, warning against hoarding and unauthorized fuel storage.
Authorities emphasized that monitoring efforts will be intensified, especially amid broader concerns over fuel supply disruptions, while urging the public to report suspicious activities through official hotlines.
