

Love and color radiated throughout Quezon City this Valentine’s Day as 129 LGBTQIA+ couples came together to exchange heartfelt vows during the city’s annual Commitment Ceremony at the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (M.I.C.E) Center.
According to a report by DZRH Digital Alyssandra Pandez, a total of 129 couples from the city’s six districts took part in the heartfelt event, pledging their commitment and love to one another in a ceremony that symbolizes acceptance and equality.
The event was personally led by Mayor Joy Belmonte, who emphasized the city’s commitment to programs that are inclusive and open to all, describing the ceremony as a clear statement of support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The ceremony was also attended by several local officials and government allies, including Akabayan Party-List Rep. Perci Cendaña and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Usec. Elen Pasion, further highlighting the government’s support for inclusivity.
Among the attendees were couples Kim and Bench, who shared their excitement about participating.
According to the couple, they were amazed to learn that Quezon City has long been hosting this kind of event. The couple also said they did not hesitate to join when they found out the event.
As a city known for its inclusive programs, Quezon City continues to make the Commitment Ceremony an annual celebration, providing a safe and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ couples to publicly express their love.
This year’s event reaffirms Quezon City’s dedication to equality, community, and the celebration of love, bringing together couples and supporters in a colorful and meaningful way.
