House prosecutor and Bicol Saro Party-list Representative Terry Ridon dismissed allegations that the Senate impeachment court’s decision on the voting threshold in Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial was manipulated.

During the House prosecution panel’s press briefing on Thursday, September 24, Ridon addressed critics questioning the Senate’s interpretation of the required votes for conviction.

“Siguro pang huling remarks nalang ho doon sa mga nagsasabi na this manipulated and kung ano pa mang sinasabi nila, may tissue ako dito, punasan niyo luha niyo,” Ridon said.

His remarks came after the Senate, voting 13-1, approved a revised interpretation of the voting threshold governing the impeachment trial.

The Senate’s decision has drawn criticism from those who argue that the ruling effectively changes the number of votes required to convict the Vice President.

Ridon, however, rejected claims that the proceedings were manipulated, delivering a pointed response to those questioning the impeachment court’s decision.
