More Filipinos expressed trust in Vice President Sara Duterte than in President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.'s performance in the last stretch of 2025, according to Pulse Asia Research’s latest survey.
“The Vice President continues to enjoy small majority approval and trust ratings in December 2025, while the plurality sentiments toward the President are disapproval for his quarterly performance and distrust in him,” the Pulse Asia report said.

In the survey, President Marcos’ trust rating dropped slightly to 32% in December from 34% in September 2025. Meanwhile, his performance rating inched up to 34% from 33% during the same period. Nearly half of Filipino adults, at 48%, expressed critical views of the President’s work over the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte maintained higher public confidence. Her trust rating stood at 54% in December, slightly lower than 56% in September, while her performance rating rose modestly to 56% from 55%.
Both officials recorded similar national indecision figures, with 18% for the President and 20% for the Vice President, numbers that showed little change from September 2025.
Regional sentiment highlighted strong support for the Vice President’s work, particularly in the Visayas, where 68% of respondents approved, and in Mindanao, where approval soared to 95%.

Pulse Asia also noted that developments between the latest and previous surveys may have influenced public perception, including former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co’s accusation against Marcos in the flood control controversy.
The nationwide survey was conducted from December 12 to 15, 2025, using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 representative adults aged 18 and above. It has a ±2.8% error margin at the 95% confidence level.
Subnational estimates for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have ±5.7% error margins at the same confidence level.
