The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will temporarily allow provincial buses to traverse along the EDSA busway and lanes during the Holy Week rush.
The decision aims to ease the expected surge of passengers heading to their respective provinces.
Based on the MMDA’s advisory on Monday, March 30, the policy takes effect on April 1 (Holy Wednesday) at 9:00 PM, and will continue until April 6 (Monday) at 6:00 AM to speed up turnaround times and ensure continuous bus operations.
Provincial buses from North Luzon will be allowed to use the lanes up to Cubao, Quezon City. In contrast, buses from South Luzon are required to terminate their trips at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and Pasay City.
Meanwhile, the MMDA will also suspend the expanded number coding scheme for the following dates:
April 1 (Holy Wednesday), effective at 12:00 PM
April 2 (Maundy Thursday)
April 3 (Good Friday)
