Various groups staged a protest on Monday, alongside the continuation of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the flood control controversy, calling for accountability and faster action.

More than 150 members of the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice, Partido Lakas ng Masa, Sanlakas, and other organizations gathered at the Senate gates, carrying placards that criticized what they described as the slow pace of the investigation and the lack of accountability for those allegedly benefiting from public funds.

Protesters chanted slogans demanding systemic change and the removal of the proposed P319-billion pork barrel allocation in the 2026 national budget. They also decried the continued presence of what they called “crocodiles” in government.

Labor leader Leody de Guzman appealed to Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chair Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson to end what he called a “sarswela,” alleging that the probe was being protected by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
