The Prosecution panel on Monday, announced that Ariel Ronquillo, assistant commissioner of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) will not be presented as witness on the 27th day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial.

According to house prosecutor Terry Ridon, the prosecution has expressed satisfaction from the previous testimonies of former Sandiganbayan Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang and Atty. Karen batu in relation to the Article 2, referring to the alleged unexplained wealth of the vice president.

“Nasapatan na kami doon sa testimonya ni Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang at Atty. Karen Batu ng Office of the Ombudsman doon po sa mga particular na mga aspeto na tatalakayan po ni Atty. Ronquillo,” Ridon said.

Ridon further noted that the adjustment is made in order to speed up the proceedings of the impeachment trial.

Instead, the prosecution names Atty. Gerardo Del Rosario of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as their first witness in the continuation of the trial on September 21.

Defense lawyer Sheila Sison confirmed the receipt of the prosecution’s manifestation which they received last night at 8:30 p.m.
