House prosecutors have submitted their formal offer of evidence to the Senate impeachment court on allegations of unexplained wealth against Vice President Sara Duterte, House prosecutor Rep. Joel Chua confirmed on Friday.
In an interview on Dos Por Dos, Chua said the panel submitted bank, tax and corporate records on Tuesday, October 20, as part of its case against Duterte.
“Noong Martes katatapos lang namin isumite na natin ‘yung formal offer of evidence,” Chua said in Filipino.
The prosecution is now preparing for the defense’s presentation, including anticipating its witnesses and their possible testimony, he said.
Chua said prosecutors are focusing on Article II of the impeachment complaint, which concerns alleged unexplained wealth. He added that the dropping of three other articles was final.
He said the prosecution’s preparations drew on inquiries dating back to 2024, including proceedings before the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
Unang-una dapat isinumite nila ‘yan sa COA,” he said.
Chua also questioned the sufficiency of documents presented to support the use of confidential funds, saying receipts should have been submitted to the Commission on Audit (COA).
