The House prosecution panel and defense team are set to present their oral arguments before the Senate impeachment court Wednesday, Sept. 23, on the disputed voting threshold required for conviction.

Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima will deliver the prosecution’s argument, while the defense team, led by Atty. Sheila Sison, has kept its chosen counsel under wraps, saying the speaker will be disclosed during the session.

The debates focus on whether the constitutional two-thirds requirement applies to the entire 24-member Senate body or only to active, participating senator-judges.

Each panel will receive 15 minutes for its presentation, followed by clarificatory questioning from senator-judges ahead of a vote on the baseline.
