House Prosecutor and Bicol Saro Partylist Rep. Terry Ridon announced the first three witnesses the prosecution has requested to be subpoenaed for Article II of the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte, which involves alleged unexplained wealth.

Ridon said the prosecution has already submitted a manifestation seeking subpoenas for:

• Former Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang
• Office of the Ombudsman Records Division Officer in Charge Atty. Karen S. Batu
• Securities and Exchange Commission Company Registration and Monitoring Department Director Atty. Gerardo F. Del Rosario.

The three are expected to provide records and testimony relevant to the prosecution’s presentation when the Senate impeachment court takes up the second article of impeachment.

“Naghahanda na po 'yung unexplained wealth team para don sa pagbubukas ng article po na ito,” Ridon said during a press briefing at the House of Representatives.

Ridon’s announcement comes as the House prosecution team begins preparations for the trial of Article II, following the proceedings on the first article of impeachment.
