South Korean actor Lee Yong-joo, known for his roles in the hit drama "Princess Hours" and the sitcom "Blue Tower," has died at the age of 44.
The actor died of a heart attack on Saturday, August 29, according to South Korean media reports by The Chosun Daily.
A close friend announced his death on social media, saying the sudden news was still difficult to believe.
His fellow actors from Blue Tower paid tribute to him following his death, according to Maeil Business.
Actor and comedian Kim Jae-woo, who worked with Lee on the series, remembered him as a caring colleague and passionate actor. He also expressed his sadness as he bid farewell to his longtime co-star.
He said, "Yong-ju was a good person who cared about his colleagues with all his heart and was a passionate actor more than anyone else… Today, I saw off Yong-ju's way out with a sad and sad heart."

Lee, a former model, began his acting career in 2004 with a minor role in the film "Doma Ahn Jung-geun." He went on to build a career in television and film, appearing in various dramas and sitcoms, including "Uncontrollably Fond" and "New Recruit."
The actor’s funeral was held at the Bundang Jesaeng Hospital Funeral Hall in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. His funeral procession was scheduled for 6:30 a.m. Monday, August 31, with his burial site at the Seongnam City Funeral Culture Complex.
