After suffering a heart attack and being hospitalized, veteran ABS-CBN entertainment reporter Mario Dumaual's family is appealing for prayers for his full recovery.

The heart attack occurred on Monday, according to his son, ABS-CBN News Digital Editor Miguel Dumaual, and as of this writing, Mario is still in the hospital.

"For now, please keep him in your prayers. We claim that in the coming days we’ll have more to be grateful for, including having him back home," he captioned his Facebook post.

He thanked everyone who expressed their condolences for his father, who received the Joe Quirino Memorial Award last year.

Miguel reports that his father's condition has improved and that he was transferred to a regular hospital room on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Mario received a five-point brass star on the Eastwood City Walk of Fame earlier this year.
