An ecumenical prayer rally was held outside the Senate on the fourth day of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, with members of the group One Faith, One Nation, One Voice expressing support for the proceedings and calling for accountability in government.
More than 50 members of the group gathered near the Senate, where they lit three large candles as part of their prayer vigil. The demonstrators said they support the impeachment trial as they called for truth, justice, and accountability.
The group also urged authorities to hold accountable all officials involved in corruption, chanting, "Tama na, sobra na," while calling for an end to what they described as the rule of corrupt political dynasties in the country.
Meanwhile, security remained tight around the Senate complex, with more than 300 police officers deployed and barricades set up at the Senate gates to ensure the rally remained peaceful and orderly.
