Power in over 1 million homes in Mindanao—which makes up 99.81 percent of consumer connections in the island—was restored on Monday afternoon following the powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake.

According to the Department of Energy (DOE), power was restored to 100 percent of hospitals and other critical infrastructure, reported RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort.

Moreover, 96 percent of the lost generation has been restored, while transmission line operations in the region have returned to normal.

Of the 894 gasoline stations in Soccsksargen, only 6 remain offline.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that around 1.59 million individuals were affected by the devastating magnitude 7.8 quake that struck the waters off Maasim, Sarangani on June 8.

Based on the agency’s Situational Report No. 13 issued on Sunday, 375,664 families, translating to 1,599,350 individuals from 580 barangays in the Davao Region and Soccsksargen were victims of the calamity.
