A portion of the second floor of the Senate building remained off-limits after a reported shooting incident late Wednesday night, with authorities maintaining a cordoned area while forensic teams continued their investigation.

According to a report by RH Raymund Dadpaas, personnel from the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms kept access restricted to the area, which had been identified as a possible crime scene. Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) were seen conducting processing work at the site.

Based on images circulating on social media, a section near a door appeared damaged, with shattered glass reportedly visible in the area where an attempt to open the door was alleged to have occurred.

Security remained tight within the Senate premises, with only personnel carrying official Senate identification allowed access to upper floors of the building.

As of press time, there was no announcement of any Senate-wide meeting following the transmission of Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Senate technical working group discussions were reportedly being held via Zoom instead of in-person sessions, amid the heightened security situation following the incident.
