As the world counted down to the New Year, Pope Leo XIV took a moment to guide the faithful toward reflection, gratitude, and hope for the year ahead.

On New Year’s Eve, the pontiff encouraged believers to give thanks for the blessings of 2025 and to examine how they responded to God’s call in their lives.

“We are also invited to reflect on how we, in turn, have responded, and to ask for God’s mercy, like the many pilgrims who have passed through the Holy Door in search of forgiveness,” the pope shared on X.

Looking forward, Pope Leo XIV offered an inspiring vision for 2026. On Facebook, he declared the year as one of divine breakthroughs, stating that this year will be all about overtaking lost time, missed opportunities, delayed blessings, and forgotten promises.

“Grace is running faster than resistance. Mercy is speaking louder than history. Favour is chasing you down! RUN WITH THIS WORD: YOU WILL OVERTAKE AND TAKE OVER! 2026 is not waiting for you, it’s responding to you.”

The pope’s messages reminded the faithful that the New Year is not just a time for celebration, but also for spiritual renewal.

By combining thanksgiving, mercy, and bold hope, he invited believers to step into 2026 with hearts ready to embrace grace and favor, leaving behind regrets and moving forward with courage.
