Polish President Karol Nawrocki is set to make his first state visit to the Philippines from October 5 to 8, Malacañang said on Friday.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the Palace said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will formally welcome Nawrocki during his visit, which will mark the first state visit to the Philippines by a Polish head of state.

The visit is expected to further strengthen the 53-year-old diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Poland, which were formally established on September 22, 1973.

Marcos and Nawrocki are expected to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation in "defense and security, trade and investment, agriculture, science and technology, information and communications technology, legal cooperation, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges."

The visit builds on recent developments in bilateral ties, including the inaugural meeting of the Philippines-Poland Joint Defense Cooperation Committee in Warsaw in July 2026 and the seventh Philippines-Poland Political Consultations held in Manila in September.

Poland is also a growing economic partner of the Philippines, ranking as the country's 28th-largest trading partner in 2025. An estimated 25,000 Filipinos are also living in Poland.

In July 2026, Poland acceded to the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC), alongside Lithuania, Romania, and Sweden, during the 50th anniversary commemorative activities for the treaty held in Manila under the Philippines' chairship of ASEAN.

The Palace said Nawrocki's state visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations and pave the way for closer cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
