Police have intensified their campaign against micro-scam hubs in Metro Manila, vowing to track down not only the locations of these operations but also the individuals and entities behind them.

According to a report by Jecelle Ricafort, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Officer-in-Charge PBGen. Christopher Abrahano said that while criminals may move from place to place, shrink their operations, and hide in ordinary-looking, seemingly innocuous buildings or houses, they will not escape the law.

Police will ramp up its searches for these micro-scam operations and work relentlessly to identify the individuals behind these illegal activities, Abrahano said.

He stressed that criminals’ attempts to conceal illicit activities will not be an obstacle to pursuit.

Five police districts under the NCRPO will be conducting thorough investigations and intelligence gathering to identify and locate scam operations and the persons involved in them.

In addition, Abrahano said police are currently focused on identifying the persons organizing, recruiting additional personnel, and funding these illicit operations, as well as their partner entities to ensure that not only will their locations be uncovered but the ones overseeing their operations.

This follows a statement issued by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla regarding three active “micro-scam hubs” in Metro Manila, although their exact locations have yet to be identified.
